Another cause for celebrations!

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 24, 2009, 10:06 PM

Alright, as yours truly have not logged into dA for God-knows-how-long, she did not even realised one of her pieces have been featured as a DD last week! :D

.: lifeless :.

.: lifeless :. by *hengie is a little contradictory: while the colors seem to scream for attention and vibrancy, the subject itself looks so lost and indeed quite lifeless. What a beautiful vexel! (Featured by ^Jules1983)

Thank you so much everyone for the favs and comments. This piece was done 2 years ago during one of the most turbulent moments of my life, and I must say, it is extremely satisfying to be reminded of it once again today and to be able to reflect on how far I've journeyed since then. Life couldn't be happier these days, and with today being Chinese New Year eve (the first time I'm celebrating at home with my family after FIVE years in Dublin), all the more reasons to be happy! Thank you again everyone!

Now, as for RL, some of you may know that I'm back home in Malaysia working. I'm currently in my second month of internship in one of the hospitals in Kuala Lumpur, in the Obstetrics & Gynaecology department (of all places LOL!)! It's been a hectic 2 months, but I'm enjoying it nevertheless. It always helps when the colleagues and senior doctors in your team are really nice and understanding. Surprisingly, I'm finding O&G more interesting as a working doctor now compared to when I was a medical student, although I don't think it's a road I will be venturing further past my 4-months of required rotation hehehe.

Wishing everyone a very Happy Chinese 'Niu' Year! May this year be a healthy, prosperous and exciting one for everyone!
:party::hug::D

*Niu = Ox (as in the Year of the Ox in 2009) :D

Flutterings in My Mind

I have to say that I adore this piece, the butterflies in the balloon as the only colorful and cheerful part of the image are simply a great idea. flutterings in my mind by *hengie (Featured by `nighty)

Done with Finals!!!

Yup that's right!

5 years of blood, sweat and tears have led up to this day, and it's finally over! For THE big finale today, I am quite pleased with getting a Surgical case instead of a Medical one. It has been a CRAZY two months' worth of intensive examinations, and I am as mentally exhausted as I am physically.

Results will only be released this Friday, so I'm afraid I can't sign this entry off with "Dr Hengie" just yet, but as soon as I get the word... :D

*crosses fingers real REAL HARD since I will already be in Paris when the results are announced*

Yup, you read that right! I will be in Paris for 3 days: 1 (and maybe 2?) of which will be dedicated solely to Disneyland! :excited:

 for the good news!!

...have I abandoned dA

And Art for that matter. Heck, I've even stopped subscribing! *rushes off to renew sub*.

In my long absence, I have so far:
  • attended 2 more gigs: Smashing Pumpkins & 30 Seconds to Mars

  • finished with my Paediatrics rotation (gotta love them little people and babies)

  • frozen my ass off in Prague over Christmas

  • survived two rotations with the Prof of Surgery (!!)

  • and rekindled my unhealthy obsession with the uber-hot-and-sexy-and-not-forgetting-yummylicious Brandon Boyd.

Ya, I'm such a nerd.

Anywho, I apologize to all my friends and recent watchers for the lack of update over the last half-a-year or so.

And I'm not proud to say that this will remain so for the next few months, until I'm done and dusted (hopefully!) with my finals in May.

If all goes well (*crosses fingers*), the next journal entry will be signed 'Dr. hengie'

Meet my new baby...

baybeeee
a HP Compaq 2710p Tablet PC

Anywho...I know, the specs aren't much to shout about, but hey, it's a Tablet PC, AND it's aboslutely FREE~~~~~~~~~~!

Yuppers, my college is replacing my class' 5-year-old iBook G3 (can't get more obsolete than that) with this brand new, ultra-light, more portable baby. Shall be getting it by the end of October.

I. Can't. Wait. :excited:

First 3 weeks...

...of Final Med, out of Dublin in a regional hospital went...aiight. Sort of. Found it pretty hard getting back into motion after 3 months of summer. Hopefully the next 3 weeks of Surgery won't be too bad.

Right, so that was more than 3 seconds, I believe.

Ciao.
